Cool Off - New Orleans Style

Blueberries and Cream Sno-Ball
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of blueberries (frozen (thawed) or fresh)
- 1 cup of granulated white sugar
- 1 cup of water
Instructions:
- Add all ingredients to a pot. Stir and bring to boil on medium high heat, then reduce heat to simmer for 10 minutes until blueberries break down.
- Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and pour in the mixture. Press blueberries down to get as much blueberry syrup as possible.
- Let mixture cool for 15-20 minutes, then add 1 can of evaporated milk and 1 cup of simple syrup and voila, you have blueberry cream syrup!
- To make shaved ice, blend ice cubes in a blender until it’s a smooth, icy consistency.
- Pour syrup over the ice and Enjoy!
Strawberry Basil Sno-Ball
Ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen (thawed) or fresh strawberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- Instructions:
- Bring to boil on medium high heat then let simmer for 10 minutes. Strain strawberries and discard or use as snoball topping.
- Let syrup cool for 15-20 minutes then add to a quart bottle.
- Make basil simple syrup by bringing 2 cups of simple syrup to a boil then adding 1 handful of basil to pot and mix in real well, then discard basil leaves with a spoon.
- Let both mixtures cool then combine.
- To make shaved ice, blend ice cubes in a blender until it’s a smooth, icy consistency.
- Pour syrup over the ice and Enjoy!
